Happy Birthday Dad!

Nevada checked off the list! Arrived in Utah around 3pm today! We are camped at Mount Zion Campground, it is soooo beautiful! It is like we are camped inside of a post card! Amazing! Tomorrow we hit the trails! Unfortunately Dogs are not allowed! Mango will be in the air conditioned camper van waiting for us. We'll have to take her on another walk into the town. We had no idea there is an actual town right at the Mount Zion Park entrance. Very cool little town! I'm sure I can find something to purchase! Weather is still awesome!! Over 30 degrees here in the Zion area!

The drive from Nevada to Utah was interesting. Below is a photo of a "wide load", a bunch of us on the Hwy were waved over by a state trooper! We thought it was something major at first..... "Natural Born Killers" on the loose perhaps! Hahaha! But alas... it was only a giant truck bucket! Thought you men  might be interested in the photo! We also met an odd duck from Alabama who was pulled over with us... bad teeth, and a little out there. But friendly enough. Travels around by car on his own. Has seen 10 provinces of Canada, and we are ashamed to say, knew more history than us! Kept asking us questions... while we cooly tried to brush him off..... had no clue what the 2nd new Northwest Territory was.... he grilled us good! Wanted to know all about Quebec, and Harper... Once that "big load" went by, we booted it! Guess we wouldn't do so good on Jeopardy!! Sorry Alex!

Some of the photos are as we drove into Utah. So we can only imagine what it will look like when we enter the park tomorrow and go for a hike!

Be great to hear from anyone out there in cyber space! Leave a comment on the blog!

  1. Hey Blondie! The territory is called "Nunavut"....just in case anyone else quizzes you on Canadian Geography! Although I am sure you already googled it!
Looks like some pretty cool places so far. All pretty desolate. Done any swimming (besides Mango)?
    Keep on Truckin' (again!)

  2. LOL!! We knew that! We thought there was a new name for the North West Territories too! We're sooo smart!!

No swimming for us, but the weather is beautiful and hot, in the 30's. So some of the river swimming holes are looking pretty refreshing! Our RV Park has a pool too! How Campgrounds have changed since the days of Qualicum Beach!

  3. I have very fond memories of the Indian, I mean First Nations, campground in QB. The natural sea pool was awesome. The best memory was hardly any parental guidance! Just hung out all day until dinner time. I am sure the parents liked our absence too.
Next trip you will have to RV across Canada - then you will be a Canadian geography expert! Maybe we will get enough gumption together to join you then?!
